Mastodon FollowersAWTRIX NG script

Install this script on your AWTRIX NG. Its icons and sounds are installed with it.

Your AWTRIX’s local address, for example 192.168.178.39 or awtrix.local.

The name shown in your AWTRIX script list. Use letters, digits, hyphens or underscores.

Connection & device login

Connect your phone or computer to the same network as your AWTRIX. Allow local network access if your browser asks.

Use the device’s IP address, without a page path such as /#/apps.

If your AWTRIX requires a login, the username and password fields will appear when you connect.

Sign in to the Hub to install scripts. Attached files are installed separately.

Script description

Tested on Ulanzi TC001 only.

Setup

  1. Install the "mastodon" icon on your Awtrix clock from the icon library or create your own 8x8 icon named "mastodon".

  2. Create a Mastodon application:

    • Go to Preferences > Development > New application.
    • Create an application with the "read" permission (or at least "read:accounts").
    • Copy the generated access token.

  3. Edit the script:

    • Replace YOUR_ACCES_TOKEN_MASTODON with your Mastodon access token.
    • Replace YOUR_INSTANCE with your Mastodon instance domain, for example: mastodon.social.

  4. Save the script and show it on your clock.

The follower count is updated every 5 minutes. Press the center button to force an immediate update.

Note: Your Mastodon access token is stored in the script, so only share the script privately if you do not want others to see it.
