Flow description
Can you sing it back? ECHO plays part of a famous melody on your Ulanzi TC002, then hands over to you: sing, hum, whistle or play it back, and the clock's microphone judges every note. Sing in any octave; only the melody counts.
What's inside
- 14 melodies, from nursery rhymes to the classics: All My Ducklings, Twinkle Twinkle, Frère Jacques, Ode to Joy, Happy Birthday, Jingle Bells, Oh When the Saints, Brahms' Lullaby, Kalinka, Korobeiniki, Für Elise, Morning Mood, In the Hall of the Mountain King and Can-Can.
- Five levels: from a few notes in your own tempo to whole phrases in strict rhythm.
- Live feedback: a dot shows the note you are singing, each note turns green or red, and an arrow tells you to go higher or lower.
- Stars: up to three per phrase and per song. The song list keeps your best result for every song and level.
- Sing from memory: switch off the note preview in the settings, and only the notes you have sung appear.
- Every melody is played by the clock's own synthesizer.
What you need
- An Ulanzi TC002 with an AWTRIX NG firmware that can hear pitch (it shows Pitch detection among its features).
- A voice, a whistle or an instrument. A gamepad is optional.
How to play
ECHO does not run in the app rotation. To start it, hold the middle button on the clock for a second, choose Scripts, then ECHO. Hold the middle button again to leave; your best results stay.
- Listen. The clock plays one phrase. Each note lights up in its own colour while it sounds; higher notes sit higher on the panel.
- Your turn. The bar on top turns green. Sing the phrase back.
- Stars. You get up to three stars for the phrase, then the next phrase follows. After the last phrase, you get the stars for the whole song.
| Action | Buttons | Gamepad |
|---|---|---|
| Previous / next song | left / right | D-pad left / right |
| Level down / up | hold left / hold right | D-pad down / up |
| Start the song | middle | A or START |
| Back to the song list | left, during a round | B |
| Next phrase | any button, on the stars | A |
| Level | What you sing | How close | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | the first 3–4 notes of each phrase | within a semitone | your own tempo |
| 2 | the first 5–6 notes | within ¾ of a semitone | your own tempo |
| 3 | the whole phrase | within 60 % of a semitone | your own tempo |
| 4 | the whole phrase | within half a semitone | in time, after four silent beats |
| 5 | the whole phrase, faster | within a third of a semitone | in time, tighter |
Tip: sing clearly on one vowel ("la", "oo") or whistle. On levels 1–3, hold each note until it turns green.
